This year the summer school had several invited researchers (professors) from various economic fields, who shared exciting experiences and ideas with our students. Among them, the PhD candidate Sebastián Fleitas (University of Arizona) presented three lectures on the subject of Inequality, Technology, Institutions and Productivity.
The idea was to discuss the recent trend in global inequality with structural factors, such as firms’ heterogeneity. After a broad literature review in the first class, Sebastián Fleitas presented two econometric papers that show evidence that firms’ heterogeneity accounts for a relevant part of income inequality.
We share with you the lectures and the papers discussed (available here). Enjoy!
