Two renowned Brazilian economists will debate the problems of investment and productivity in Brazil in a workshop organized by the ECLAC Summer School on the Latin American Economies. Ricardo Bielshowski (UFRJ) and Regis Bonelli (FGV) will discuss why the evolution of the investment rate and productivity growth has shown a dismal performance in recent years. Brazil has made significant advances in many fields, from macroeconomic stability to the reduction of inequality. But there is a challenge to be overcome if the improvements in income distribution and formal employment are to be sustained. This challenge is the central topic to be addressed in the Brazil Workshop of the ECLAC Summer School on Tuesday 12th of August.
